The art of the making process
Discover the techniques and processes that are part of our identity.
Macrame
Macramé, known as the art of knots, is an age-old artisanal weaving technique.
It uses knots made by hand, one by one, to create weaves, textures and designs.
Without the need for needles or looms, the technique transforms threads into compositions that explore shapes, volumes and patterns, valuing handcraftsmanship and the uniqueness of each creation.
For Caliandra’s founder and artisan, macramé represents the link between memory and creation.
The technique, always present in the towels made by her grandmother and great-aunts, was one of her first experiences with craftsmanship.
Today, this knowledge is part of her creative repertoire and is renewed through original applications in beachwear pieces, becoming part of the brand’s identity and expression.

...from knots, beauty is born...
Patchwork
Patchwork is a textile technique that consists of joining fabric scraps to create compositions that explore colors, prints, textures and geometric patterns.
Traditionally associated with the use of leftover materials, it transforms fragments into new creations, valuing the combination of elements, the precision of handcraftsmanship and the uniqueness of each piece.
At Caliandra, patchwork brings together aesthetic expression and awareness in the use of materials, giving rise to original prints and designs through the combination of fabrics.
The technique reflects the brand’s commitment to textile material utilization and its ongoing pursuit of waste reduction.
